Q&A: What programming languages should I learn as a High School Student?

Question by grbrsmith: What programming languages should I learn as a High School Student?

I am a High School Junior, will be a senior is 1 day, and I am wondering which programming languages I should get acquainted with before entering college. I am planning on going into computer science & informatics and going into the security side of things. I have been told that I don't really need to learn any but I'd still like to be ahead a little going in. I have already taken a class on VB and am currently working on some MySQL & C++. What else should I look into?

Java knowledge would be nice as well probably.
