I am writing a fiction piece for lit class. One requirement is that it uses everyday products and I need to know when a person must use the circled r or t, and when it is not needed, to be accurate. I don't want points taken off for misusing them. Thanks
They must be used accurately though. That is the point of the exercise.

I don't think you need to use them if you aren't going to be selling your writing
